Kyoto University (京都大学) in Kyoto, Japan, is home to over 22,000 students. It offers Doctorate Degrees in Agriculture, Communication, Engineering and Management. Students can also pursue Master Degrees in those areas, as well as in Information Science. Graduate degrees are offered in Communication, Computer Engineering, Engineering and Psychology.
Kyoto's forerunner was Chemistry School, which was established in 1869, in Osaka. Kyoto's Imperial University was founded in 1897, and the current university was formed when the imperial university was merged with Third Higher School.
