University of California, Los Angeles

The University of California at Los Angeles, USA, usually called UCLA, was founded in 1919. It has more applicants yearly than any other college in the United States. The school is home to over 40,000 students who earn credits in such colleges and professional schools as Applied Science & Engineering, Letters & Science, Arts & Architecture and Theater and Nursing.

In 1914, the California State Normal School would move to their new campus where Los Angeles City College now sits. The state legislature was lobbied to enable that school to become another U of C campus. In 1919, the schools would be merged into what is now UCLA.
