University of California, San Diego

The University of California at San Diego is sometimes called UCSD or UC San Diego. It is located in San Diego, California, USA. It is home to over 29,000 students who study in subjects including Information Technology, Telecommunications, Medicine, Oceanography and Immigration Studies.

UCSD was established in 1960. It was the first of UC campuses to be designed as a research university. New facilities were added in 1963 and UC's School of Medicine began accepting students in 1966. The college has continued to grow and is among the most well-known of research schools in the United States.
