The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is abbreviated as UIUC and is located in Champaign, Illinois, USA. It boasts over 42,000 students who excel in fields of study that include Agriculture, Aviation, Education, Law, Liberal Arts & Services, Media and Veterinary Medicine.
The college was founded in 1867, after an act of congress gave every US state land on which to build public universities. As specified in the act, the school needed to teach agricultural studies, military training and mechanic arts. The college actually opened its doors in 1868, with few students, but it would grow into a well-respected college.
